Five Feminist Finds: Feb 14-21

The links I found interesting this week:

1. XY Bias: How Male Biology Students See Their Female Piers - The Atlantic

universityherald.com

We all know there's a gender bias against females working and studying in the field of science and math across the world, but do you know just how grave the statistics are? This article presents some pretty startling facts about how much women struggle when it comes to gaining in the world of STEM.

2. Emma Watson Takes a Year Away From Acting to Support Feminism

thewrap.com

The new face of feminism (and...dare I say, feminine feminism?) has announced to the public that she'll be taking a year off of acting to concentrate on promoting the feminist cause. Are you as excited as I am to see what she does next??

3. Fairy GodBoss - A New Website For Women in the Workforce.

Boston.com

In 2015, two remarkable women founded FairyGodBoss.com, aka the Yelp of U.S. Corporations for women. The site offers reviews on over 7,000 businesses in the United States, ranking companies on female centered issues such as amount of paid maternity leave, salaries, benefits, and gender equality. The best part? It's all free!

Proving you're never too old to start a new hobby, this Australian Aboriginal badass lady is changing the name of the art game with her intricate designs that completely disrupt the traditional themes of aboriginal art.

5. Taylor Swift's Grammy Acceptance Speech.

Because, of course.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! xx

  1. I'm a massive fan of Emma Watson and didn't know she's taking a break for feminism. It's great to here that her self-critiquing has decreased and hopefully it'll give the power for other women to do so as well :)
